School of the Arts and Architecture

About the Major
The four-year Bachelor of Arts curriculum in Music is a classically oriented, balanced program of practical, theoretical, and historical studies, with related performance and academic studies in non-Western music. The major, designed for students who want to combine fine musicianship with academic excellence, is based on a core curriculum of theory, history, analysis, and individual and group performance.

There are five concentrations within the major: composition, music education, performance, theory, and jazz studies.
